2schneidig – Pray

This Song is released a few days ago and it’s obvious that I have to write an article about it because the artist was sending me a SMS personally to buy his CD in a store near me. To be honest, I rarely buy CDs anymore, but buying mp3s and listening to gospel house or gospel electro radiostations is a main thing for what I need computers. I bougth the extended version on amazon (which is indeed an experience because of the mp3loader) and instantly listen to it.

2schneidig is one of these groundbreaking christian rappers in Germany who starts his career in 2000 which is exactly the same year as me.

About the song itself:
First I like the Voice of 2schneidig which is really near the voice of MC Hammer (who released that Song first, 20 years ago). The new Version is about 6 BPM slower which made it less dancefloor capable. It is intresting that the berlin based producer of that song has oriental influences to make it “roadworthy”. It really reminds me of Music Instructor back in 1998. ( I suppose they know each other). The original melody line (which is written by Prince “when doves cry“) is slightly different.
But I think its a good chance to port “Pray” to the new millenium and it definitively catch the spirit of the age. (specially for people under twenty)
It is a pity, that there are no dance remixes available on this release…

Interesting, the public transport in Berlin has been recently equipped with computers. This bus could be had here, however, a “CMOS checksum error – Defaults loaded”. What could be either an empty backup battery, or a broken BIOS chip, which of course would be a disaster in terms of reliability for the public transport in Berlin. Where will all this technology lead us to?
